Abstract

455,100. Gas - lighters. WILLMOTT, A. R., Central Buildings, Station Approach, Coulsdon, Surrey. April 26, 1935, No. 12580. [Class 75 (iii)] In a gas-lighter, such as described in Specification 406,473, in which a torch 1 is held when not in use in a tube 6 secured as by a set-screw 7 in a collar 5 on the spindle of the gas-cock, the torch is retained in the tube by a gravity-operated catch 9, or a leaf spring on the cock casing, engaging a flange 12 so that it can be withdrawn when the cock is closed and is released on opening the cock. The catch 9 consists of a U- shaped member 11 carried by arms 8 bent over at the end to engage depressions or holes 10 in the tube. The Provisional Specification describes also a leaf-spring secured to the tube.
