Abstract

455,075. Weft stop-motions for looms. SOC. ANON. A. SAURER, Arbon, Switzerland. March 12, 1936, No. 7466. Convention date, March 23, 1935. [Classes 142 (i) and 142 (iii)] A loom shuttle is provided with an adjustable stop 24 for disabling a spool brake 15 when the weft is nearing exhaustion so that the freely running spool may induce sufficient slackness of weft to release a weft supported bow shaped member 7 and effect stoppage of the loom. The invention is described in connection with a ribbon loom having a semicircular race 2 provided at each end with a slidable plate 27 which carries a projection 30 for engagement by the member 7 and a lug 31 for operating a stop lever 32. The brake 15 is held against the spool 5 by a spring 17 which is connected at one end to an adjustable sector 20 on the shuttle wall. The member 7 may be moved to stopping position by means of a spring.
