Abstract
454,626. Moving signs. GREY, H., 56, Marylebone Lane, Wigmore Street, London, and WADDINGTON, A. S., 61, Crayford Road, Crayford, Kent. April 2, 1935, Nos. 10176 and 20293. [Class 3 (i)] One or more transparent sheets 3, carried by side flexible springy members 5, swing in the manner of a pendulum laterally in the plane of the sheet. The sheet 3 bears part of a representation or object, the other part of which is mounted on a stationary transparent sheet 10 spaced in front of the sheet 3 and parallel thereto. A frusto-conical border 12 bridges the space between these two sheets, and is so dimensioned that the edges of the sheet 3 are never exposed to view from the front or rear. The rear of the casing 6, 7, 8, is occupied by a transparent sheet 14 carried on a hinged door 13. Oscillation is imparted to the sheet 3 by solenoids 19 riding over cores 22 and giving a one-way impulse to the sheet-supporting bar 1 at each swing. A wiper switch gives the required contact, and power is supplied by a battery 31. The sheet 3 may carry an independently oscillating display object, and may have other than a simple swinging movement.
