453,498. Non - refillable bottles. ELLIS, L. S. E., 70, Chancery Lane, London.- (C.A.P.S.A.I.-Chiusure Automatiche di Protezione Soc. Anon. Italiana; 11, Via Andrea Doria, Turin, Italy) March 11, 1935, No. 7560. [Class 125 (i)] A valve 7 is held on its seat by a ball or roller 21 which enters a recess 21<1> disposed eccentrically in a baffle so that the ball or roller can enter the recess only in certain angular and radial positions. In one form, Fig. 1, the valve 7 is retained on its seat by a ball weight 8 which is guided in a funnel member 4. The baffle used in this form consists of three discs extending over somewhat more than half the bore of a casing 1. Grooves 6<1> and steps in the member 20 prevent tampering by wire. The casing is retained in the bottle neck by a collar 19 and seal. In a second form, Fig. 4, the valve 7 is assisted in sealing by a superimposed weight 23 with the addition of a spring 24. The baffle in this instance consists of spongy glass or porcelain made by bringing splinters of these substances to melting temperature whereby a block is produced permeable to air and liquid but not penetrable by a wire.
