Abstract
397,797. Non-refillable bottles. GRAUER, S., 1939, West 7th Street, Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A. March 29, 1933, No. 9424. [Class 125 (i).] A non-refillable bottle stopper comprises a body member 10, 11, which may be of porcelain and made in two halves, having a flange 12 insertable in a recess 21 in the bottle neck, a plurality of passages 18, in the form of grooves or circular holes, formed longitudinally through the body member 10,11, a concentric opening in the body member in which is slidably mounted a valve stem 13 having a valve 16 at the top and a detent 17 at the lower end, and a resilient sleeve 20 for securing the whole device in a bottle, the flange 12 being of larger diameter than the sleeve 20 to prevent tampering therewith. A chamber 14 may be formed in the member 10, 11, the member 17 also being formed as a valve to govern the aperture 15. The recess 21 is of sufficient depth to contain alwavs the valve 16 which is of but slightly smaller diameter to prevent tampering therewith. A cap of any kind may be positioned over the bottle mouth.
