Abstract

451,538. Tanks. GRIFFIN, A. M., 2147, West 79th Street, Los Angeles, U.S.A. July 10, 1935, No. 19730. [Class 69 (i)] A floating cover for a tank is formed mainly of rectangular pontoons secured together, with the top 4, Fig. 7, of each pontoon projecting on one or more sides to overlap depressed portions of the tops of adjacent pontoons, and be secured thereto by bolts 8. Each pontoon has internal reinforcing members 14, Fig. 3, and a neck 17 with a cover 19. The depth of the pontoons preferably decreases gradually from the periphery of the cover to the centre, and a drainage pipe is provided.
