Abstract

451,392. Mudguards. PANZETTA, H., 27, Bucks Avenue, Watford, Hertfordshire. Oct. 15, 1935, No. 28482. [Class 136 (i)] [See also Group XXXII] A resilient side buffer for a vehicle comprises an annulus of indiarubber rotatably mounted on a vertical bearing adapted to be secured, for example, at the extremity of a bumper or on a mudguard in order to prevent the bodywork of other vehicles with which it may come into contact from being damaged. The Figure shows a buffer 4 mounted on a bolt 38 held between arms 40, 41 secured to a mudguard bracket 36, the buffer projecting through a slot 39 in the valance 37. A reinforcing plate may be moulded into the buffer which may have peripheral corrugations or circumferential ribs. When the buffer is rotated a visible or audible warning may be transmitted to the driver.
