Abstract

450,625. Hydraulic transmission of power. GUINNESS, E. E., Allendale, Coalway Road, Wolverhampton, ELWELL, M., The Laurels, Tipton Road, Woodsetton, Staffordshire, and WATTS, R. C., Cleveland Works, Cleveland Road, Wolverhampton. Oct. 17, 1934, Nos. 28213/35 and 28214/35. Divided out of 450,595. [Class 69 (ii)] In hydraulic power-transmission apparatus comprising a pump in circuit with a motor, the pump and/or motor is of variable capacity, and passages or channels connect the recesses in which inwardly and outwardly moving vanes act. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the pump and motor each have vanes 37 constituted by rollers working in recesses 36 connected by passages 45. Each recess is grooved at 44, the pump capacity and direction of output are varied by sliding its stator 38, and the motor stator has cams 50 for positively maintaining the motor vanes closely adjacent to the stator. The pump and motor are connected by passages 58, 59 fitted with one-way valves 68. The invention is also described with reference to the form shown in Figs. 1-7 of Specification 450,595. Specification 430,159, [Group XXVI], also is referred to.
