Abstract

232,373. Thoma, H. Feb. 19, 1924. Revolving-cylinder pumps.-In revolving cylinder pumps and motors for the hydraulic transmission of power in lathes, motor cars, locomotives, hoisting apparatus, &c. the pistons 5, Figs 1 and 2, are provided with crossheads 6 having cylindrical bearing surfaces coaxial with the pistons for taking up transverse forces, and rollers 8 carried by the crossheads bear against a floating adjustable eccentric ring 9. Lubricating passages 17, 18 are provided. In order to prevent liquid from passing along the central pivot, this pivot or the cylinder block is provided with grooves 19 on each side of the distributing ports. Other grooves 20 connecting with the grooves 19 are arranged on the suction side.
