Abstract

1,185,697. Reciprocating pumps and motors. SOC. ANON. ANDRE CITROEN. May 3, 1967 [May 16, 1966], No.20649/67. Heading F1A. In an hydraulic machine operable as a pump or motor the bridges 18 and 19 of the distributing valve 13 each have a pair of ports 20, 21 and 26, 27 one of each pair of which communicate with one of the main ports 16 and 17 under the control of respective pistons 23 and 31 subject to the pressures in the main ports. The piston 31 has a pair of elbow shaped passages 34 and 35 therein so that the two bridge ports 20 or 21 or 26 or 27 communicating with the main ports each communicate with a different main port. In the described embodiment, the radial cylinder rotary block (1, Fig. 1 not shown), has pistons 4 engaging a track ring (5) mounted for pivoting movement in a casing (7). The distributing valve may have a spherical or flat valving face.
