[Class 138 (ii)] In a washing- machine wherein an agitator is oscillated within a rectangular tub supported on a framework which when inverted serves as a crate for housing the tub, the agitator comprises two plates 2, 2a secured together at an angle and to a bracket 3 formed on the lower end of the shaft 4. The oscillation of the crank handle 6 is limited by stops 8 fixed on the tub cover 5 in which the shaft is journalled.
