Abstract

450,366. Hot-water cylinders ; supply arrangements. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., 28, Kingsway, London, and BARRIE, E., 240, Leeds Road, Fagley, Bradford. April 18, 1935, No. 12065. [Class 64 (i)] A thermostatically - controlled electric water-heating vessel 3 has a flat base plate 2, a dish-like member 1a secured to the top thereof to form a pocket 1 which cold water enters through a pipe 6, a thermostat 5 passing through the pocket and extending up towards the top of the vessel, a tubular casing 9 spaced round the thermostat and opening at the bottom into the pocket 1, and a downwardly turned pipe 10 leading incoming cold water which has passed over the thermostat down towards the base of the vessel. The electric heating element 4 is of considerably less height than the vessel, and the lower end 10a of the pipe 10 may be bent towards the element. The inlet pipe 6, the element 4, thermostat 5 and a siphon outlet tube 7 are mounted on the base plate 2.
