450,181. Pipe joints; non - metallic flexible pipes. McMILLAN, H. E., Droylas, Chain Lane, Littleover, Derby. Jan. 30, 1935, No. 3095. [Classes 99 (i) and 99 (ii)] A non-metallic flexible pipe a is jointed to a metal pipe b by providing the end of the former with a chamfered enlargement a<2> which is compressed onto a spigotted end b<1> and also against a shoulder f<1> of the latter by a nut e. A sleeve member d having an enlarged end d<1> which is internally chamfered is interposed between the pipe end a<2> and nut e. The flexible pipe a is formed of alternate layers of . rubber and canvas which are thickened and bent back respectively at their ends.
