A flexible pipe joint comprises a plastic sleeve A, which embraces and is secured to the ends of pipes B and B<SP>1</SP> by a non-hardening cement C, e.g. a tar based emulsion or rubberized pitch emulsion. A reinforcing metal sleeve D, may be secured to the plastic sleeve A by a coating E of cement similar to that used at C. The plastic sleeve A may be transparent.
