Abstract

873,095. Pipe joints. GOVENIUS, K. J. P., and BLOMQVIST, H. W. Feb. 9,1959 [Feb. 28, 1958], No. 4501/59. Class 99(1). In a connection between soft or pli able tubing 2, fo example of rubber and rigid tubing 1 for example of metal an end portion of the tubing 2 is pushec over the tubing 1 and held tightly in position by an outer sleeve 3 of thermoplastic material which initially is pliable and of larger diameter than the overlapping tubes and which, when subsequently heated in the range 60‹C. to 100‹C. and allowed to cool, contracts and hardens, causing the pliable tubing to be securely clamped between the tubing 1 and the sleeve. The metal tube 1 may have beads 1a.
