Drawings to Specification. [Class 27] In a prepayment electricity meter, the moving contacts of the supply switch are connected through a lost-motion coupling with a heavy actuating member, which is raised to an elevated position and there latched during prepayment, and released when prepayment is exhausted, the lost-motion coupling enabling the heavy actuating member to apply an impulse to the switch contacts to ensure their opening. A prepayment mechanism incorporating the invention is described which is identical with that of Specifications 431,735, [Group XXXVII], and 449,556, to which reference is made.
