[Class 37.] Measuring-apparatus comprises a multi. range meter M in circuit with a number of make-before-break relays R1-R3 operating at pre-determined current values to change the range of measurement, and an overload relay, which may be one of the relays R1-R3, for cutting the meter out of circuit. The overload relay may alternatively maintain current through one or more of the remaining relays, and it may operate an alarm signal.
