728,948. Lamp failure alarms and warning devices. WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO., Ltd., and MILLER, G. D. March 3, 1954 [April 14, 1953], No. 10217/53. Drawings to Specification. Class 118 (2). A relay for use in supervising a signal lamp has two windings, one of which is in series with the said lamp, and the other is connected across the source of supply. A common armature is operated to close an indication circuit only when each of the relay windings is energized above a predetermined level. The relay winding connected to the supply voltage has a variable resistance in series and this serves to make adjustment for impedance of the supply conductors to the lamp so that the relay releases at a given voltage across the lamp, regardless of the actual voltage of the supply battery, without the necessity of adjusting the relay itself.
