Abstract
448,035. Bakers' ovens. POINT ON, J. E., and BAKER PERKINS, Ltd., Westwood Works, Peterborough. Nov. 27, 1934, No. 34104. [Class 51 (ii)] A baker's oven of the endless conveyer type is divided by a baffle 21 into two compartments through which the conveyer passes, and means are provided for adjusting the steam level in both compartments independently of one another. As shown the baffle 21 and the upper and lower walls of the oven are of arched formation, the space beneath the lower wall being used to accommodate the furnace or heating-means 20. The conveyer passes over end sprockets 15, 16 and is otherwise guided by rails 17, 18. The steam level in the two compartments is controlled by adjustable outlet casings 23, 24, each divided by a partition 28, Fig. 2, forming a U-shaped flue for the escaping steam, and the partition having valves 29 for determining the lowest level to which the steam can descend in the oven. The conveyer may be operated in either direction.
