Abstract
446,989. Double fabrics &c. PFERDMENGES, H., Giesenkirchen, near Rheydt, Germany. Feb. 1, 1935, No. 3374. [Class 142 (iv)] In garment fabrics having an open mesh lower ply of thick threads and an upper ply of finer threads so spaced as to render the fabric non transparent whilst allowing penetration of light rays, as described in Specification 423,428, the upper ply is of leno weave. It may comprise straight and crossing cotton warp threads d, f with single wefts e as shown, or with groups of wefts passing under the warp threads d and over the warp threads f at the crossing points. The lower coarse ply may also be of leno weave, or it may comprise warp or weft threads only or both warp and weft threads arranged singly or in groups. Sinuous or zigzag warp threads forming a honeycomb effect may be used. The lower ply may comprise warp threads a, weft threads b disposed in pairs, one weft in each pair passing above, and one below all the warp threads, and fine binding-warp threads c.
