446,231. Discharge apparatus. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. Sept. 9, 1935, No. 25095. Convention date, Sept. 8, 1934. Addition to 445,287. [Class 39 (i)] [See also Group XI] In an electron-discharge device having coaxially arranged tubular leads sealed through a ceramic part of the envelope as in the parent Specification, the leads are constituted by metallic coatings on tubular ceramic members 5, 6, 7 which pass through the envelope and are secured in a vacuum-tight manner by sintered material, or by fluxes, such as glass, applied at the places 9. The coatings may be applied to both or either of the surfaces of each tubular member. A metal, such as silver, having a good electrical conductivity is used, the thickness of the coating being of the order of thousandths of a millimetre. The tubular members 5, 6, 7 and the portions 1 ... 4 of the envelope are preferably of the same material or have similar coefficients of expansion.
