[Class 39 (i)] In an indirectly heated cathode the insulating- tube separating the heater from the cathode body proper is longer than that body which is of the same length as the heater; the cathode body may be in the form of a tube or of a metal deposit on the insulating tube. The support member or members are fixed to the insulating tube at a distance of at least one mm. from the metal coating.
