Abstract
Magnesium alloys are made by the addition to magnesium, or to magnesium alloys containing other metals such as manganese, iron, or cobalt, of 6 per cent of a combination of aluminium and zinc in proportions corresponding to the compound Al2Zn3, that is 4,7 per cent of zinc and 1,3 per cent of aluminium. The alloys may be heat-treated at 420-520 DEG C., or may be aged at 100-160 DEG C. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also magnesium alloys containing manganese and zinc. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
