[Class 78 (i)] [See also Group XII] Apparatus for pneumatically feeding coal on to a furnace grate through a nozzle which is angularly movable relatively to the grate, includes means for varying the action of the pneumatic feed in accordance with the angular relationship of the nozzle and grate. Fuel is fed by a screw feeder into an air conduit 25 along which it is carried by air from a blower 34 to be discharged on to the grate 10 through a nozzle 18 mounted in an opening 17 in the front wall 12 of the furnace. The nozzle is pivotally mounted at 19 on a part cylindrical member 20 and carries an arm 28 which may be fixed in a given position by means of a pin projection through one of a number of holes 27 in a fixed segment 26 or which may be adjustably secured to a rod 32 connected to a crank 33 and shaft 16 rotated by a motor 15. The other end of the shaft 16 carries a crank 44 which may be connected to a damper 41 in the air conduit from the blower 34. The blower 34 is also provided with a damper control 45.
