445,482. Delivering measured quantities of liquids. BOWKER, R. P., 75, Charles Street, Sheffield. Oct. 13, 1934, No. 29341. [Class 106 (v)] In order to facilitate coating with a protective metal such as tin, the parts of a measuring tap of the rotary taper plug valve type which come into contact with the contents of the tap, the plug 1 is recessed at that portion 2 which comes into register with the outlet port 3 of the measuring chamber when the plug is in that position which allows the measuring chamber to be filled. The recessed portion is given a protective coating. The inlet part of the tap is formed as a separate member 6 and is connected with the body of tap by means of a coupling nut 4. A projecting member 10 engaging in a recess 11 in the part 6 ensures the correct relative positioning of the parts.
