Abstract

443,765. Instantaneous steam generators. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON., Winterthur, Switzerland. Aug. 12, 1935, No. 22664. Convention date, Sept. 22, 1934. [Class 123 (ii)] Water is evaporated at different temperature stages in tube sections 1-5 connected together in series through separators 6-9 from each of which steam is led off through pipes 10-13 to a main separator 14 and water flows to the next section. Throttle valves 37-40 in the steam pipes 10-13 are automatically controlled by the temperature or pressure of the working medium or by any condition thereof associated with the temperature or pressure. A throttle valve may be operated by a piston acted upon by pressure fluid, the supply of which is controlled in accordance with the temperature or pressure of the working medium by the difference in the temperature or pressure at two points of the sections. Further, a throttle valve may be automatically operated by a fluid-pressure relay controlled by the weight of the water collected in the main separator. Throttle valves 37<1>-40<1> between the separators 2-5 and the tube sections may also be automatically controlled in accordance with the temperature or pressure or other associated condition of the working medium.
