Abstract

<PICT:0443166/III/1> <PICT:0443166/III/2> Sealing-material is delivered to the edge of a blank to be formed into a container from a valve-controlled nozzle, the valve operating mechanism being actuated by that part of the blank to which the sealing material is to be applied. The material stored in a tank a is delivered under pressure through a pipe d, a strainer e, and a pipe f to a nozzle h. The nozzle is normally closed by a spring-pressed member t which is retracted on the passage of a blank k, Fig. 4, to allow sealing material to be delivered into the bent up edge m, the spring r returning the member t after the blank has passed. The material may be a rubber or latex dope.
