Convention date, June 6, 1934. [Class 40 (v)] In a multi-grid oscillator-detector or modulator volume is controlled by variation of the bias of a grid more remote from the cathode than the oscillator electrodes and the voltage applied to the oscillator positive electrode or screen is diminished as the control grid is rendered more negative. The Figure shows a potentiometer 8 for controlling the amplification in a known circuit in this manner to avoid change in the frequency and amplitude of the local oscillations.
