Convention date, Jan. 20, 1934. [Classes 64 (i) and 64 (iii)] An economizer arranged in the downtake flue of a water-tube boiler consists of vertical rows of horizontal tubes provided with studs 30, Fig. 4, or fins 70, Fig. 6, electrically welded to the tubes. The tubes in each vertical row are connected by Y-pieces 48, Fig. 7, and spaced apart by T-pieces 35 welded at one end to the tubes. The tubes in adjacent vertical rows are spaced by bars. 34 welded at one end to the tubes. The tubes may be staggeredly arranged, and the flue provided with baffles 68, Fig. 10.
