352,187. Steam boiler water-tubes. FODEN, E. R. and FODENS, Ltd., Sandbach, Cheshire. May 28, 1930, No. 16427. [Class 123 (ii).] In steam boilers for motor vehicles of the type comprising a horizontal water-tube section having a steam dome e and water-jacketed flue in which the water-tubes r extend, and a second or firebox section at a substantial angle thereto, the inner shell carrying the water-tubes is made in one piece with the inner shell j of the firebox which carries an outer shell k bolted to the boiler shell a so as to permit withdrawal of the flue and firebox sections as a single unit. The water-tubes extend preferably at about 30‹ to the horizontal in alternating rows between opposed pairs of flat faces of the flue section which may have fins or ribs q.
