Abstract

439,827. R÷ntgen-ray photographic apparatus. HILGER, Ltd., A., 98, Kings Road, Camden Road, SMITH, R. L., 70, Grove Park Road, Mottingham, and TWY-. MAN, F., 98, Kings Road, Camden Road, both in London. June 16, 1934, Nos. 17884 and 22797. [Class 98 (i)] Apparatus for the examination of specimens comprises an enclosed or demountable R÷ntgen-ray tube to which can be fitted a structure comprising an apertured stage for supporting the specimen and a sub-stage for detachably mounting any form of Rontgenray camera. As shown, a collar 2 is clamped to a tube known under the Registered Trade Mark " Metalix " 1 by rings 4, 4, and carries trunnions 5 upon which is pivoted a casing 6 supporting the stage 7 with an aperture 12. The means for adjusting the stage comprise a lever 8 carrying set-screws 11, 11 engaging a stud 10. The casing 6 carries a sub-stage 13 which is secured by screws 14 and has dovetailed runners 17 in which fits a slide 18 carrying the camera. The sub-stage is adjustable by set-screws 15. The slide has a turn table, whereby the camera is rotated to give a photographic image consisting of concentric rings. A microscope mounted on a slide may be inserted in the sub-stage and adjusted for a particular point on the specimen, and may then be replaced by a camera for the photographing of the point.
