966, 063. Enlarger and stereoscopic microscope combined. MORGANITO RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT Ltd. Jan. 24, 1963 [Feb. 23, 1962], No. 7191/62. Headings G2A and G2J. A stereoscopic viewing apparatus comprises a stage 7 for supporting a stereoscopic pair of slides 11, 12 and which can move orthogonally (in directions A, B by means of rod 5 on which it is mounted and frame 4 which is slidable on platform 3);slide 12 is further mounted on a slidable plate 16, means are provided for illuminating the slide; the slides are viewed by means of microscopes 24, 29 with adjustable interocular separation. Microscope 29 is mounted on a slidable bar 30 and the illuminating system comprising lamp 20, prism 27, and condenser 28 is similarly slidably mounted. The other illuminating system comprising lamp 20, prism 22 and condenser 23 is fixed. Above the microscopes and vertically adjustable is a camera or a focusing screen and a plate folder 34, depending on the optical components in the microscopes, and when eyepieces 31 are removed these can be lowered on to the microscopes so that a photograph can be taken. The microscopes may be provided with revolving objective changers.
