Abstract
1, 021, 912. Slide projections and directviewing apparatus. BRAUN A.G. May 29, 1963 [June 15, 1962], No. 21467/63. Heading G2J. Apparatus for the projection or direct viewing of diapositives comprises a lamp 1 illuminating slide 4 through condensers 3, a lens 5 serving for projection or direct viewing and being movable for this purpose between two positions as guide rods 11 on the lens mounting 9 slide in resilient sleeves 12, and a filter 8, such as an opal glass disc, which is movable into and out of the optical axis in response to the above lens movement. The light intensity is thereby reduced for direct viewing. The filter holder 7 may be pivoted at 6 and have a projection 10 which abuts the mounting 9 for direct viewing, as shown in full lines in Fig. 1, the holder 7 swinging under gravity to the dotted line position when the lens is withdrawn to the projection position. In another form, rods 11 engage projection 22 on extension 22 of spring-loaded filter holder 20 which is thereby swung into and out of the optical axis as the lens 5 is moved. The apparatus stands on oblique surface 14 for direct viewing after tilting about edge 15, a heavy transformer providing the necessary stability.
