Abstract
735,943. X-ray apparatus. COSSLETT, V. E. Sept. 25, 1953 [Oct. 7, 1952], No. 25050/52. Class 98 (1). [Also in Group XL (a)] An X-ray apparatus suitable for shadowgraph or stereographic photographs comprises a tube in which, by means of an adjustable magnetic objective lens, a fine-focus spot of one micron or less is obtained. The target 17 is a thin metal foil which also functions as the window. The specimen support 26 is carried, by a ring 27, in close proximity to the window, its distance from which is adjustable by a threaded ring 28. The ring can be moved from side to side by centring screws 29, or perpendicular to the plane of the drawing by other centring screws (not shown). The shadowgraph is recorded on a photographic plate 30.
