Abstract
439,695. Fluid-pressure servomotorcontrol systems. RUBBRA, A. A., Red Roofs, Carlton Road, Derby. July 20, 1934, No. 21303. [Class 7 (vi)] An altitude-con trolled servomotor device for adjusting the fuel-regulating means of an in ternal - combustior engine has an over riding pilot's control whereby the fuel regulating means may be adjustec without interfering with the automatic regulation. The servomotor pistor e<2>, which is guidec by a tail piece f sliding in a socket f<1>, is connected by a floating lever g, link i, and lever i<1>, i<2> to the fuel-regulating means. The pilot's control is connected by a lever h<1>, h2 and link h to the other end of the floating lever g, and intermediate its ends the lever g is coupled by a link j to a movable ported sleeve d which forms the seat for a piston control valve actuated by an aneroid device b. Movement of the piston valve caused by the expansion or contraction of the aneroid connects one side of the piston to pressure and the other side to exhaust, and consequential movement of the piston moves the seat sleeve to give a follow-up action and moves the fuel-regulating means to make an appropriate adjustment of the fuel supply.
