Abstract

439,183. Valves. DAVIS, SIR R. H., 187, Westminster Bridge Road, London. May 30, 1934, No. 16163. [Class 135] [See also Group VI] A lung-operated valve employed in a respiratory appliance is enclosed in a rigidwalled cylindrical box 7 and comprises a closing member 19 operated through levers 11, 12, 13, by a diaphragm 10, the diaphragm being actuated by suction within the box. The member 19 closes a nipple 20 connected to a gas cylinder through a passage 28 in a block 21. A byepass 23, 25 is controlled by a screw valve (not shown). A modified construction is described comprising a rectangular gas box containing a valve actuated by a two-component compound lever.
