438,262. Pipe joints. LYGOS PROPRIETARY, Ltd., Dodd Street, South Melbourne, Australia. May 27, 1935, No. 15398. Convention date, July 14, 1934. [Class 99 (i)] An electrically insulating sleeve coupling for metal pipes comprises a pair of metal sockets 1 into which the pipes 9 are screwed, the sockets being separated and surrounded and connected by insulating material D. The coupling sleeve may be formed by screwing the sockets on to a ferrule 2 of insulating material and filling the space between an outer metal casing 5 and the sockets with a plastic material such as artificial resin. The inner tube may be moulded at the same time as the outer covering and the metal casing 5 may be embedded in the insulating material.
