437,308. Sifting-apparatus. SLATER, S., Highfields, South Elmsall, Yorkshire. May 9, 1934, No. 13955. [Class 117] A sieve is supported by pivotally mounted parallel links and vibrated by one or more rotary cams or eccentrics acting against springs which tend to keep the sieve in one of its extreme positions. In the form shown, the sieve 7 is suspended in the frame 1 by links connected to transverse bars and is oscillated by the cam 5 which co-operates with an abutment 6 on the screen. The cam operates in conjunction with springs 12 arranged at one or both ends of the screen. The screen mesh may vary along its length. Two or more screens may be provided, arranged end to end or side by side and operated by a common crank-shaft.
