Abstract

436,408. Loom let-off motions. DOWNS, COULTER, & CO., Ltd., and BARKER, W. H., 4, Currer Street, Bradford, Yorkshire. July 10, 1934, No. 20169. [Class 142 (ii)] The tension of selvage warp threads is controlled by brake bands 5<x> passing around the core 3 of the warp bobbin 4 and by a roller 10 bearing on the warps. The brake bands are anchored to set screws 14 adjustable about a shaft 11 that carries an arm 9 to which the roller 10 and a toggle lever 7 are pivoted. The toggle lever is bifurcated to bear on the lever, is provided with a handle portion 7<x>, and carries pins 14<x> to which helical springs 6 attached to the brake bands are connected. On moving the toggle lever in the direction of the arrow, and withdrawing a spindle 2 on which the bobbin 4 is mounted between horizontal arms 1, an empty bobbin may be removed and replaced by a full one.
