Abstract
436,196. Mould materials. THORNTON, A. A., 7, Essex Street, Strand, London.- (International de Levaud Manufacturing Corporation, Ltd. ; Toronto, Canada) June 17, 1935, No. 17372. [Class 83 (i)] In lining a centrifugal metal mould with ferrosilicon powder, prior to casting iron therein, the powder used is in such a state of division that not more than 5 per cent is retained on a sieve having 150 mesh, Tyler series, i.e. with diameter of openings 0À014 mm. and not less than 10 per cent on a sieve having 200 mesh or 0À074 mm. diameter. The ferrosilicon may be mixed with sand &c. as described in Specification 423,612 and the coating may be applied by a carrier gas, as described in Specification 430,390.
