Abstract
435,647. Hydraulic transmission of power. SYKES, W. D., Glan-yr-Eigion, Sully, Penarth, Glamorgan. Sept. 17, 1934, Nos. 26661 and 35019. [Class 69 (ii)] Hydraulic power transmission apparatus comprises an axially slidable pump and a number of individually rotatable rotors. The pump 13 is carried by a shaft 1 axially movable so that the pump outlet 11 may be disposed in register with one of a number of passages 16, 17, 18, leading to rotors R<1>, R<2>, R<3>, having a oneway mounting at 22 on a conical member 20 carried by the driven shaft 10. The rotor R<1> has vanes r<1> co-operating with fixed vanes 7<a>, and the rotor R<2> vanes r<2> co-operating with a fixed vane 19<a>. The pump may be adjusted automatically by means depending on the driven shaft speed and/or manually.
