Abstract
435,509. Electromagnetic track brakes. KNORR'-BREMSE AKT.-GES., 9, Neue Bahnhofstrasse, Lichtenberg, Berlin. Dec. 13, 1934, No. 35845. Convention date, Sept. 27. [Class 103 (i)] Rigid suspension means with which electromagnetic track brake blocks 1 are provided in addition to the usual suspension means 12, to prevent the blocks from striking the rails during travel-of the vehicle when de-energized, comprise main locking devices 3 pivoted to the vehicle frame and normally engaging members 2 on the block 1 and auxiliary locking devices 5 pivoted at 7 on the devices 3 also engaging the members 2. The devices 5 which serve to prevent unintentional disengagement of the devices 3 are held engaged by springs 8. Fluid pressure cylinders or magnets 9 are connected by a pin-and-slot 11 to the devices 3 so as to disengage the devices 5, 3 in succession when the blocks are to be applied to the rails.
