Abstract
435,214. Conveyers. NAYLOR, W. H., 20, The Drive, Adel, and DAY & SONS, Ltd., J., Beeston Royds Works, both in Leeds. July 3, 1934, No. 19596. [Class 78 (i)] A conveyer for goods or appliances comprises carriers 15 of any form, each provided with front and back pairs of rollers 16, 17, 18, 19, each pair engaging an upper and a lower track 11, 12. The front pair 16, 17 is connected to a continuously or intermittently travelling belt or chain 20, the pivotal point of attachment of which is on the axial line of the leading pair of rollers and coincides with the centre line of the track. The rollers are carried by arms 21, 22, 23, 24, of which the arms 21, 22 are closer together than the arms 23, 24 in order that the arms 21, 22 of a following carrier may pass between the arms 23, 24 of a leading carrier so that its rollers 16, 17 may precede the rear rollers of the leading carrier. The roller axles may carry washers 26 which bear on the track and relieve the rollers 16, 17, 18, 19 of their load, and similar devices may bear on the upper surface of the track. Brushes 25 may be dragged behind the rollers 18, 19 or other part of a carrier to clean the track, and the upper track may be shaped so as to cover the rollers 16-19 and prevent dust &c. falling thereon, and the lower track may be open at the middle to allow dust &c. to fall out. The device may be disposed horizontally or vertically.
