Abstract

398,017. Endless - - belt elevators. CADMAN, H. W., 62A, Wickham Road, Brockley, and SOVEX, Ltd., Union Works, Bear Gardens, Southwark, both in London. Aug. 4, 1932, No. 21909. [Class 78 (i).] An elevator for parcels, packets, sacks, &c. comprises a feeding section 1, an inclined section 2, an endless belt 3 extending continuously over the belts 1, 2 and supported by a curved plate 6 in the angle between these belts, and a freely sagging endless belt 16 which rests upon the belt 3 and travels therewith. The belt 16 is weighted with mild steel or other relatively heavy transverse slats 17, Fig. 2, enclosed in pockets 18 of stiff cotton material, and is supported and driven by an endless belt 11. One or both of the belts 1, 2 may be dispensed with and the belt 3 driven by the drum 4 against which it is pressed by a snubbing roller or endless band.
