Abstract
434,130. Accnmulators. SCHLOEMANN AKT. - GES., 13, Steinstrasse, D³sseldorf, Germany. Feb. 27, 1934, Nos. 6308 and 6309. Convention dates, March 1, 1933 and Oct. 12, 1933. [Class 69 (ii)] [See also Group XXXVII] A control device for hydraulic accumulators comprises a number of switching devices I, II, III, arranged at different levels of the pressure chamber and operated by the rise or fall of water within the chamber, each switching device comprising a switch 15 arranged outside the chamber and operable magnetically by the movement of a pivoted magnet 11 arranged within the chamber. The magnet 11 is pivoted at 12 and is normally overbalanced by the weight of a diving bell 10. When the level of water rises, however, the buoyancy of the bell brings the parts into the position shown in Fig. 5 in which the upper pole of the horseshoe magnet has attracted the pivoted armature 16, causing a circuit between the mercury cups 19<a>, 19b to be completed. The switch I stops the feed pump of the accumulator, and the switch II closes the cut-off valve when the water has reached the respective levels a, b. The switch III restarts the feed pump when the water has fallen to the level c.
