433,966. Pipe joints. HAUSER, J., Nafels, Glarus, Switzerland. March 6, 1934, No. 7125. Convention date, March 6, 1933. [Class 99 (i)] A pipe joint comprises a number of clamps 4 spaced around the joint and fitting over the flanges 3, each clamp being tightened by driving two wedges 6, 7 from opposite sides between the clamp and one flange. The wedge 6 is supported by a shoulder 5<b> of the clamp, which is secured to one flange by bolts 9. In a modification a ring 10, Fig. 4 passes through openings in the clamps and carries bars 11 which bear on the wedges. In another form, the clamps comprise halfrings 20, Fig. 7, bolted together, the wedges 21 being inserted through openings 23. A pair of wedges 35, Fig. 9, is used on each side of the clamp, a bar 33 projecting over the wedges.
