Abstract
433,696. Free - wheel clutches. VRIENDT, J. A. DE, 18, Rue du Parc, Petite- Rosselle, Moselle, France. Nov. 16, 1933, No. 32029. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, May 18, 1934]. Application for addition to 405,343. [Class 80 (ii)] In a clutch according to the parent Specification, comprising toothed wheels 5 which are journalled on pins 6 carried by discs 7, 8 rotatably mounted on the driven shaft 9, are in constant mesh with a gear 10 rotating with the shaft 9, and co-operate, either directly or through the intermediary of roller extensions, with recesses 3 and inclined surfaces 3<1>, 3<2> in the inner periphery of a driving drum 2, a plate 14 rotatably and slidably mounted on the shaft 9 carries pins 15 which pass through apertures in the disc 8 and are adapted to be engaged in circumferential slots 16 in the drum 2 only when the latter is driving the shaft 9. With the pins engaged, unidirectional drive is transmitted, while if the pins are disengaged bidirectional drive is transmitted. Alternatively, the plate 14 may be mounted on the driving shaft 1, the pins passing through apertures in the drum 2 to engage circumferential slots in the disc 8.
