Abstract

[Class 21] In a metal container in which the closure seats in a ring-shaped seating positioned at the mouth of the container, the seating ring a, Figs. 2, 3, 6 and 7, whose innermost portion is flush with the inside of the container is made from flat or shaped metal strip and is connected with the container wall by beading its edge therewith. The arrangement may take the forms shown in Figs. 2 and 6, with or without a washer g and a reinforcing ring f, member o, Fig. 6 being a tension ring and member m, Fig. 2 a wedge ring. The securing means may also be a turnbutton n, Fig. 5. The joint may also be in the form shown in Fig. 3. In Figs. 7 and 8 the seating is bent up from the rim of the body and reinforced by a ring h.
