[Class 135] In a reversing or change-over valve for controlling the direction of movement of fluid operated mechanism such as hydraulic rams of the type comprising a tubular barrel 27 with equally spaced ports 7<a>, 8<a>, 10<a>, 11<a> and 12<a>, communicating with high and low pressure fluid supply pipes and pipes to and from the mechanism to be operated, between which are arranged packing rings 25 spaced apart by collars 26, a solid valve rod 28 is provided with ports or passages 29 cut in its periphery so that pairs of adjacent ports can be interconnected by longitudinal movement of the rod. When the rod is in the central position the flow of fluid is prevented. Specification 431,785 is referred to.
