Abstract
698,651. Pneumatic single-stroke apparatus. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Nov. 30, 1951 [Dec. 20, 1950], No. 28185/51. Class 8 (ii) [Also in Group XXIX] Each end of the cylinder 28 of a fluid actuated double - acting single stroke motor has a pair of restricted passages 40, 42, 58, 60 of which passages 42, 60 are covered by the piston 30 as it approaches the ends of its stroke whereas passages 40, 58 are continuously open to associated cylinder spaces 32, 34 formed by the piston 30 and have non-return valves controlling admission of working fluid to said spaces 32, 34; said passages 40, 42, 58, 60 terminating ahead of a piston seal 65 when at the ends of its stroke. Adjustable restrictors 44 in the passages 40, 58 control the speed of the piston, and similar restrictors 46 in the passages 42, 60 cushion the piston at the ends of the stroke. With a two-way valve 24 in the full line position shown working fluid is admitted past the one-way valve, which is located in a lateral passage 62, to the space 34 thus shunting the restrictor 44, and the space 32 is exhausted past restrictors 44, 46.
